● About the treatment

WHat is it

Skinpen creates controlled micro injuries to stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process, while minimising cellular damage. The result is effective remodelling of scar tissue and the production of elastin and collagen leaving skin with improved tone, texture and tightness.

SkinPen Follows A 3-Step Process:
1. Inflammation

SkinPen’s microneedles pierce the skin, triggering your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow, and begin to create new tissue.

2. Proliferation

The micro-wounds created by SkinPen are rebuilt with new granulation cells that include collagen proteins. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.

3. Remodeling

Remodeling the wound is replaced

SkinPen® Sets The Standard

Skinpen uses 14 state of the art smooth Japanese needles in the cartridge tip.

Super tensile strength for treating scar tissue

The super sharp precision needles are designed to prevent skin tearing damage unlike many of the Microneedling roller systems currently used.

What can I expect after treatment?

There will be some redness; this will vary from one individual to another, from a light blush pink through to deep pink, such as sun burn. This will settle, usually significantly within hours, but sometimes taking two or three days to return to normal. The skin may feel tight and stingy for the first few hours.

Will it hurt?

Local anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment to numb the skin, this makes the procedure virtually painless.
There are certain areas of the face, where skin is slightly thinner, these areas patients can sometimes describe as uncomfortable. The new ‘skinpen’ delivers virtually painless treatment due to the vibration and high speed of penetration.

How long will it last?

Results are achieved gradually over a period of months and three or more treatment sessions will be required to achieve optimum results. With skinpen, studies have shown that some collagen production continues for up to a year after the last treatment.

Is it safe?

All treatments carry a degree of risk. However, this is a very safe treatment, complications are rare when the right tool is used in safe hands and the aftercare advice is followed. All risks and complications will be discussed with you at consultation and prior to any treatment being agreed.

You are advised to avoid extremes of heat and cold and vigorous exercise for the first 12 hours. Over the first 5-7 days, the skin may feel tight and dry. Sunscreen must be applied daily. You will be advised to use post procedure products to minimise any redness and support the skin during the process.
